MLX770 Satellite Weather System (Worldwide)
The system comprises an Avidyne MLX770 transceiver and an antenna. Weather information is requested via the on-screen display and data from the Satellite are received and processed by the transceiver. Weather information is displayed on each of the existing CMC PilotViewTM EFB's.  Software to be installed in each EFB provides the Graphical User Interface (GUI) to allow the user to navigate through the various services and menus available via the Touch Screen. The transceiver will feed both EFB's with weather data. The Avidyne system uses the Iridium constellation of satellites and provides ground and airborne coverage Worldwide.

Flight plan routes are entered by using the touch screen by pointing to departure and arrival points and any desired interim waypoints, thus avoiding time-consuming entry of the route of flight.

Weather information is collected from the Avidyne Network Operations Center (NOC) for a 100-400 NM (user selectable) radius along the entire route of flight.  This uses the resources optimally without receiving unnecessary information.

Weather Products
Satellite infrared image- worldwide, including 10-level grayscale depicting relative cloud heights.
Lightning -worldwide, showing age of each strike in three levels.
METAR and TAF worldwide with graphical representation of all reporting stations as well as textual METAR and TAF for all stations within flight planned route.
WSI weather radar imagery for North America, Europe and Australia.

WSI/AV300 (North America)
WSI InFlight's satellite broadcast system provides a continuous stream of aviation weather information to your EFB with complete coverage and content for the majority of North America at any altitude. Co-developed with NASA, WSI InFlight's data link and automatic update service keeps pilots aware of situations as they unfold, increasing flight decision confidence.

With WSI InFlight your ability to make routing decisions earlier in a flight, increases the efficiency as well as the comfort of your operations. Anticipate and avoid turbulent routes, accurately evaluate alternatives and always have a depiction of a 'weather-out'.

WSI InFlight features the award winning WSI NOWrad radar mosaic. WSI NOWrad is the only mosaic of the U.S. Doppler Weather Radar network that includes continuous quality control by degreed meteorologists. Additionally, WSI employs a combination of advanced algorithms and up-to-the minute surface observations to determine the type of precipitation, rain, mixed or solid. The result is the most accurate depiction of precipitation over the United States available anywhere.

XM Weather interface with Jeppesen's "Flitedeck" system is available for the Global Express and Challenger series aircraft.

Using the CMC Electronics
tm CMA-1100 Electronic Flight Bags with XM Weather we can integrate the XM Weather System with your Jeppviewtm 3.6 software. Weather is presented as an overlay for en-route charts, approach plates, and airport diagrams, improving situational awareness of active weather especially during the critical approach phase. It is easy to use. On the Jeppview 3.6 application there is a weather mode button that allows you to select which product you wish to show on the charts, and a simple on-off toggle if you want to remove this information. In addition, WxWorxtm software is also loaded onto the EFB, so all available products from the XM Weather system are available if needed.

A subscription to XM Radio is required for this system, along with a subscription to Jeppesen for aeronautical charts.
